Xevol Coordinates

Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 13, 2026

Xevol Coordinates is a private, local-first location history and travel log app. It helps you record places you visit, view your location history on a map, choose how much location detail to keep, and optionally sync your history with Xevol or your own server.

Data we collect

  • Location data, including precise and approximate location, when you grant location permission. This is used to create your private travel log, show your current location, reverse-geocode locations into city/country labels, and estimate country-day counts for planning.
  • Account information, such as email address, display name, and user ID, when you create or sign in to an account.
  • Feedback content, if you choose to submit feedback in the app.
  • App settings and cached app data stored on your device, such as sync preferences, location-detail preferences, and local location history.

How data is used

We use this data only to provide app functionality: location capture, map/history display, optional sync, account/session management, privacy controls, and support/feedback handling. We do not sell your data and do not use your location history for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Location and background location

Xevol Coordinates can use background location so your travel log continues while the app is not open. On Android, background tracking uses a foreground service notification. You can pause background tracking, reduce stored location precision, keep data local-only, erase local data, or delete your account from Settings.

Third-party services

Coordinates may send coordinates to OpenStreetMap Nominatim to convert latitude/longitude into city and country labels. If you enable Xevol sync, your selected location history is sent to Xevol servers. If you configure a custom sync endpoint, your selected location data is sent to the endpoint you choose.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data. We do not share personal data for advertising or tracking. Location data may be sent to service providers or external services only to provide app functionality, such as reverse geocoding, optional Xevol sync, or a custom endpoint selected by you.

Security

Data sent over the network is encrypted in transit using HTTPS where supported by the destination. Local data is stored on your device using platform storage.

Deletion and control

You can erase local location data and delete your account from Settings. Deleting your account clears local account data and requests deletion of server-side account data according to the account deletion flow shown in the app. You can also contact support at [email protected] for help with deletion requests.
