How to set up a custom domain

A site made in Xevol is published on an Xevol address first. You can put it on your own domain, such as www.yourbusiness.com, at any time.

Sites is set up with you. If your Workspace does not show Sites yet, write to [email protected].

1. Add the domain

Open Sites, pick your site and go to Live site. Under Own domain, enter the address with www, for example www.yourbusiness.com, and press Add domain.

2. Add a CNAME record

At your domain's DNS provider, add a CNAME record from www to the address Xevol shows under Own domain.

Then forward the bare domain (yourbusiness.com) to www at your registrar, so both addresses reach the site.

3. Wait for it to connect

The domain shows Waiting for DNS until the record is found. That usually takes minutes, sometimes a few hours. Press Check again to look now. When it says Connected, the site is live on your domain, with HTTPS.

If it says Not connected, check that the record points from www to the address shown, then press Check again.

Removing a domain

Press Remove next to it. A site's own domains have to be removed before the site can be deleted.
